The Night They Stormed Eureka : 3

If their was a series of books I would have made Sam go with the bush ranger and make her sad because she wish she could have seen if the puddlehams were alive. Or Sam could have died amd  Mrs Puddleham stayed alive and we could have see what Mrs Puddlehams view. 3 Mr Puddleham could have died and Mrs Puddleham could have lived and we could see Mrs Puddleham and Sams view of when they went to open the hotel in Melbourne

The Night They Stormed Eureka:2

Their are lots of different alternative endings that could have happened in the Night They Stormed Eureka, like Sam could have run off with the bushranger who had some gold and they could have gone off to Queenslandnd together. What if Mrs Puddleham didn’t die maybe she could open her hotel with Sam and Mr Puddleham . Maybe the professor did not come out of the mine what could have happened.

Reflective Thinking

https://www.kidsinthehouse.com/all-parents/parenting/communicating-with-children/what-is-reflective-thinking

What is Reflecting? Reflecting is when you have done something you go back and write about it and  that is reflecting.

Why do we do it? We reflect so that we can look back over what we have done before.

How do we do it? and what tools do we use to reflect?  You can reflect by using pen/pencil paper, you can even reflect just by typing.

How can it help you learn?  To help you know what happened in your life.

The Night They Stormed Eureka :1

Reflection: I really liked this book  I thought that Jackie Grench did a good job on using words back in the 1850s and the book had lots of  twists in it.

I think that the biggest change in Australia was the shelter because now we live in houses but back then most of them lived in a tent or a hut or if you were rich enough a hotel.

Term 2 Week 2 Reflection

In Week 2 of Term 2

             READING/ WRITING

We Visualised. I visualised the book Artemis Fowl and the Eternity Code. Also in reading this week, we looked at our reading goal. I have been doing really well at my reading goal.  We also named some key words about London in the 1780s to 1790s.

This book is about 316 pages long and is about how Artemis Fowl is a criminal  and on the run and he is fairy public enemy number 1.imageI would give this book a 5/10 and 2 stars and is suitable for 11-14 year old boys and girls.

MATHS

This week we did our paper plane fly-off. Distance vs time aloft. The winner for distance was Joram and for time aloft the winner was Hamish from our grade. His paper plane was in the air for 7 seconds. We also did our paper planes presentation.

INQUIRY

We learned about Captain James Cook in the 1770s. We also learned about how the first fleet came to Australia. We got to ask a question. My question was “Will I get shot in Australia?”  We drew a picture of what London might have looked like in the 1780s to the 1790s here it is.

image

I took about 15 minutes to do this picture. My picture shows the alleyways and the cobble stones and the horse and cart. My picture also shows the pillory which is where you put your hands and head through holes and people throw sticks and stuff at you. It also shows the sewage  hole.

Well Week 2 has come to a end.

My creative Cardboard cart regatta graphs

image

Cardboard where do I start ? It’s not cardboard it is a card board cart.

These are pie graphs they all the people in my group and how well they worked and how well they cooperatet.

My Maths learing is that I know know how to do area and perimeter area is the inside and perimeter is the outside. When you measure perimeter you do Lentgh plus width plus length plus width and area is width plus length times 2.

When you draw a 3 D shape you should draw a rectangle and then another rectangle half in the first rectangle you drew. Then you draw a line to another line next to it and keep doing that until it looks 3D

Rembrence day

At my school there are two powerful symbols the Gallipoli oak and a poppy tree. The Gallpoli oak reminds me of the soldiers that went to Gallipoli and died. The poppy reminds me of how much courage and bravery.

Outstanding Out of my mind Quotes

The morning started out like crystal but the day has turned into broken glass.

To me this means that the morning was so good like you had just found a crystal but during the day it’s like you have glass in your  heart and it is broken because of disappointment.

Book review: An Anzac Tale

image

This is ia a powerful story about an amazing adventure. It lasts for more than nine months, and it involves 3 close friends , lice, flies, heat, snow, and eight thousand Australian soldiers dead.

Austraila joined with Great Britain  to fight  Germans and Turkish army’s. Roy, Wally and Tom travel  firstly to Egypt and then to Anzac cove. They land at Anzac cove at dawn for the next 9 months . They go up  against brave Johnny Turk. The flies were not making it easy for the Aussies because it caused a loof illness.imageThis is the charge at Lone Pine

This  graphic novel not only tells a story but it provides many many facts I did not know about Gallipoli. Anyone interested in the story of Anzac would enjoy this book.

Queensland flag

image

The Queensland flag came out in 1876.
The Queensland flag is one of the state flags.
The state flag of Queensland is the blue military, composing of a dark blue field, with the union flag occupying the upper hoist.
The badge on Queensland flag is developed from the need to include a seal or badge in the design of the state flag.

If I had to change something I would put some stars on the flag as well, I would do this because I think it looks a bit lonely.
